Roxanne is the heart of our clinic and the friendly voice you’ll often hear first. As Practice Manager and Personal Assistant to Dr McCaffer, she ensures everything runs smoothly - from booking appointments and confirming surgery dates to guiding families through paperwork and insurance approvals.

With a calm, can-do attitude and a genuine passion for helping people, Roxanne supports each family with warmth and professionalism. She understands that seeing a specialist can be a stressful time for children and parents, and she’s here to make things easier - answering questions, providing clear information, and making sure nothing is missed.

Dr McCaffer works exclusively with highly qualified, fellowship-trained anaesthetists led by Dr Sam Perrin, who bring exceptional skill and care to every procedure. With dual training in both paediatric and adult anaesthesia, our anaesthetists are experts in delivering safe, smooth experiences for patients of all ages, especially young children.

Dr Sam Perrin

Expert anaesthetic care with a calm, family-centred approach

Sam

/ SPECIALIST ANAESTHETIST

Dr Sam is a New Zealand–trained specialist anaesthetist with over 10 years of experience in anaesthesia and a strong subspecialty focus in paediatric care. He completed his medical degree at the University of Auckland in 2011, became a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) in 2021, and then completed two additional years of advanced fellowship training in paediatric anaesthesia.

Now working primarily at Starship Children’s Hospital, Sam brings both deep expertise and a warm, reassuring presence to every procedure. He is fully qualified in both adult and paediatric anaesthesia, and his experience as a parent helps him deliver care that is not only clinically safe but emotionally supportive - especially for young children and their families.

Sam is passionate about making the surgical experience as calm, safe, and positive as possible. From pre-operative discussions to post-operative recovery, he ensures that patients and parents feel informed, involved, and cared for every step of the way.
